Lumano in brief
Lumano is a small Swedish consultant company. We have leading expertise in information architecture, web-based communication, searchability and usability. We help our clients to create and support an effective communication.
We are working towards this goal by analyzing and testing web sites, intranets and other communications solutions. The constant focus on the users and their needs creates a unique strength in our solutions.
We act as project managers, advisors and executors in our projects. Our staff is highly trained within the areas of information architecture and usability. Together, we have a vast experience of web projects performed in many different organizations.
Our clients are most often larger companies with international business. We have experience working with clients located outside Sweden or following Swedish to their market countries. Some examples of our clients are: Ericsson, Outokumpu, Pharmacia (now aquired by Pfizer), Skandia (now aquired by Old Mutual), NobelPrize.org and Karolinska Institutet.
Our office is located at Hantverkargatan 21 at Kungsholmen in central Stockholm, very close to the underground station Rådhuset.

Information architecture
The over-all goal is to make it easy for users to find what they want at an intranet or web site. Includes creating content structures, navigational systems, labelling and search services.
Communication strategies
We analyze the visions and goals for the communication within an organization, performs target group analyzes and creates concepts for how to perform the communication the right way, using the right channels.
Usability and testing
Usability - including usefulness and user-friendliness - measures how useful a site is for the users and how easy it is to use. Strategic usability work includes every step in the development process. We also perform evaluations such as expert reviews, field studies and user testing in test studios.
Searchability studies
We develop and implements methods for improving the ranking in search engines, as well as create new search functionality at an intranet or a site.
Project management
We manage the project from planning and staffing to evaluations, testing and launch. We can also coordinate a number of projects and follow-up on results.
Advisory support for customers
Sometimes, we take part in discussions in a concrete issue when a decision will be made concerning e.g. a purchase of a software license. However, our advisory work is commonly performed as part of a long-term relation with our clients.
We work structured using flexible methods such as PROPS (Ericsson) and PPS (TietoEnator). The level of documentation etc is adjusted to each specific project.

Project management and execution of a project involving twenty-plus consultants, with the purpose to coordinate printed and digital channels for internal communications within Pharmacia in Sweden.
Pharmacia network for European intranets
Further development of intranet concept used by local market units around Europe. Create new navigation and search functionality, prepare for new version of web publishing platform.
Search for Pharmacia's Swedish intranet
We created a new classification system, search functionality and a user interface for a Yahoo!-like subject guide to content at the Swedish intranet.

Project management for the implementation of a global web-based survey system.

Map out existing web-based services and applications and suggest a new content structure and project organization.
